WASHINGTON June 18, 2025—The Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ (ACP) is extremely disappointed by the Supreme Court decision announced today that opens the way to allow states to restrict access to evidence-based medical treatments. The decision in United States vs. Skrmetti leaves in place a Tennessee ban on gender-affirming care for minors. ACP strongly believes that every patient should have access to the medical care they need. Denying patients access to evidence-based care puts them at risk of significant harm. Decisions about a patient’s care should be made by that patient, in consultation with their physician, following the best-available evidence.
