PHILADELPHIA June 25, 2024 – The Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ (ACP) has joined the leaders of other major health organizations in support of the release of an advisory from U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy on firearm violence in the United States. Dr. Murthy has declared firearm violence in the U.S. as a public health crisis and this is the first publication from the Office of the Surgeon General dedicated to firearm violence and its consequences for the health and well-being of the American public.
WASHINGTON June 24, 2024—Although progress has been made in addressing health disparities and reducing social inequality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and other sexual or gender minority (LGBTQ+) populations, new challenges have surfaced that harm the health and well-being of those populations, says the Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ (ACP) in a new policy paper published today.
